Our Story

Rooted in Mannington, Crafted with Care

The Coffee Trader began with a simple conviction: that the best coffee shouldn't require a long drive to find it. We opened our doors on Market Street with a small roaster, a dream, and a commitment to treating every bean like it matters — because it does.

Today, we source directly from farmers in Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, and beyond. Each origin is roasted in small batches right here in Mannington, so you can taste the difference that freshness and attention make. Our bakers arrive before sunrise so the shop smells like warm bread and espresso by the time you walk in.

Whether you're grabbing a quick pour-over on your way to work or settling in with a croissant and a book, we've built this space for people who care about what they drink — and the hands that make it.

The Process

From Green Bean to Your Cup

Every bag of coffee we sell passes through our hands — from sourcing to roasting to packaging — right here in Mannington.

01

Source

We travel to origin and build relationships with farmers who share our commitment to quality and sustainable practices. Only the top 2% of crops make the cut.

02

Roast

Small-batch roasting on our drum roaster allows precise control over every profile. We taste at every stage — development, first crack, cooling — to dial in the perfect roast.

03

Rest & Package

After roasting, beans rest for 12–48 hours to degas and develop flavor. Then we vacuum-seal them in our shop, so you're getting coffee at its peak — not weeks old on a shelf.

04

Brew & Enjoy

Drink it here — pulled fresh as an espresso or poured over — or take it home. Grind it your way. Every purchase comes with tasting notes and brewing recommendations.
